The author

Diogo Guedes, certified financial planner^®. For more than 11 years my work has been in private banking, formerly at Citi Private Bank, co-founder of Knox Capital, currently completing a Global MBA at Hult International Business School. The job was always the same: explain the macro context behind a decision, in private, one client at a time.

MacroPulse is that work made public. The analytical posture I used in those conversations, written down weekly, for people facing similar decisions without the same advisory channels.

The thesis

I write for a reader the macro media tends to skip. Smart, self-directed, managing their own money, but not living in front of a terminal. The mass-market stuff is too thin; the institutional stuff is too dense and assumes you do this for a living. Very little sits in the middle, which is where most people actually are.

That middle is who I write for. Each issue takes what moved in the week and gets to the part that matters: what it might mean for you. Analytical, practical, and willing to take a view rather than wait for the safe one. The value is in the translation, not the prediction.
